Hello there.

I read somewhere (can't find link to it) that you guys who develop SharedCache were expecting Microsoft actions (pricing, feature set, etc) on their Velocity project to add new features and decide whether you'd keep developing and supporting it.

I couldn't find fresh new information on Velocity, looks like still CTP 2. Is that right?

So, are you guys still waiting? Any prevision of when Velocity is going 1.0?

Thanks.

Hi,

we decided to go further with sharedcache since velocity seems to be quite slow and progress is still on ctp2.

i believe you have read it here: http://netrsc.blogspot.com/2008/06/velocity-vs-memcached-vs-shared-cache.html

actually i should come up with a new release within several weeks but the actuall code base is (latest version) is
stable and it runs on various production environments.

roni

I have also evaluated Velocity and found it to be (at current time) slower, unreliable under load, difficult to install, and having some questionable design foundations (Regions?). Time will tell on this one.
